Christmas Amusements.
Mr. S. J. Streadwick has made extensive arrangements for the amusements of the public at his grounds at the foot of Hanover Street. He proposes to have a Baby Show, in which the visitors shall adjudge the prize by ballot. Switchback Railways, Toboggan Slides and various other means of wiling away the festive hours of Christmas time, including a Skating Rink, with no danger of thin Ice. Fire Works and Illuminations of the grounds are to add to the attractions, and a Band of Music is to discourse "a concord of sweet sounds."
Mr. Streadwick, though a source of mirth, declines to be a cause of offence against the Moral Law. He severely taboos the inebriating cup, and the intoxicating excitement of the lottery. There will be neither Liquor nor Lottery.

Mr. Streadwick's Gardens continue to be the centre of attraction, and a more pleasant and rational way of spending an evening in a tropical climate cannot be found. In order to afford those who are not over-flush to avail themselves of an evening's amusement, Mr. Streadwick has considerably lowered the price of admission to 6d. for the next two evenings. The Baby Show will be held on the 2nd January instead of the 1st, so as not to interfere with other pastimes that are advertised for that day. The public cannot do better than pass an evening at Mr. Streadwiok's Fairy Gardens.
